What is Resource Planning?

Resource Planning Overview

Resource Planning lets you assign workers and equipment to projects across your company. It works in two modes:

1. Weekly Planning (3WLA)

Superintendents and managers assign resources for the next 3 weeks directly on the 3-Week Look-Ahead Gantt chart. This is where 80%+ of allocation happens.

2. Daily Exceptions

Foremen handle day-of deviations — absences, releases, and trade requests — through Solo Entry on mobile.

Key Features

  • Dispatch Board — Company-wide Gantt view of all assignments across projects
  • Conflict Detection — Automatic alerts when a worker or machine is double-booked
  • Crew Confirmation — Foremen confirm tomorrow's crew from their phone
  • Exception Handling — Report absences, release workers, request replacements
  • Notifications — Workers receive email/SMS when assigned (if enabled)
  • Auto-Prefill — Solo Entry auto-fills project, activity code, and hours from assignments
Principle: Plan in 3WLA, confirm daily, handle exceptions only when needed.
