Roles decide what someone may do; bid access decides which bids they may open. Both apply within the active tenant. The account must be active.
- In Estimating, expand Estimating team roles above the pipeline. This panel requires
users.manage. - Select the team member, check the required roles and choose Save estimating roles. Estimator grants viewing, editing and pricing. Estimating Lead adds assignment and review authority. Approver adds approval authority. Roles may be combined; item assignments can further limit editing.
- For a restricted bid, its company administrator must also add the person through Manage access on that bid.
The general Roles & Access dropdown uses account roles such as admin_view; Estimator is assigned in the separate estimating panel. Assigning a bid member never changes these roles.
Within the active company, the Admin account role or tenants.manage authorizes bid-access management. users.manage alone does not. Conversely, tenant-management permission alone does not authorize estimating-role assignment. Estimating Lead alone grants neither authority and does not bypass a restricted bid's membership list.
Check the saved roles by reopening the team member. A role grant does not activate an inactive account. Related: Restrict or reopen a bid.
