When should I create a revision snapshot?

  1. Use Update totals and resolve the cost-link and indirect-allocation issues in Reconcile.
  2. When the revision is Ready, choose Create revision snapshot directly in Reconcile or use the Snapshot tab.
  3. Find the preserved revision in history. Continue later work in its new successor draft.

A snapshot keeps its saved inputs, resource rates and review history unchanged. The new draft needs its own review. Preserved revisions can also be selected as sources when copying from previous bids.

Use a snapshot for an interim milestone, a saved Closing version for commercial pricing, and Issue bid for the final issued document. None publishes a live project budget through this workflow.

Related: Reuse a preserved bid.

If totals need updating after a correction, select Update totals before creating the snapshot.
