Best practices for daily reporting

Daily Reporting Best Practices

  1. Report the same day – Details fade quickly. Record the facts while they are fresh.
  2. Review every section – Record installed production when work was performed so productivity and unit-cost analysis have the right inputs. Empty sections can be reviewed without inventing entries.
  3. Save frequently – Don't wait until everything is complete. Save each tab as you go.
  4. Use crews – One click adds the whole team. Saves 5–10 minutes per report.
  5. Add weather notes – Explains productivity variance. Prevents unnecessary investigation on rainy days.
  6. Commit before leaving site – Pending entries are not yet the committed source for cost and payroll exports.
  7. Check the calendar weekly – Spot missing reports. Gaps = gaps in cost visibility.
